For 10 years, Black Smoke has been serving outstanding, unique BBQ in the heart of Antwerp. Our concept brings together a bar, a BBQ restaurant and a rooftop, all revolving around one thing: BBQ, Booze & Attitude.
To strengthen our kitchen team, led by Chef & Pitmaster Isabel Rodrigues, we are looking for a talented Junior Sous Chef (M/F/X) with a genuine passion for fire and BBQ.

• Preparing mise en place according to the established checklists.
• Ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards in accordance with HACCP guidelines.
• Contributing ideas and suggestions for new dishes.
• Independently managing your own kitchen section during service.
• Handling all operational tasks, from mise en place to preparing and plating dishes.

Hold your own in our Hell’s Kitchen, where our pitmasters tame the roaring flames in our open kitchen, or be the cool cat in our cold kitchen, where every dish is plated with an eye for detail.
You are comfortable working independently and have a culinary qualification or equivalent experience, with at least three years in the kitchen.
Black Smoke’s dishes are rooted in American BBQ traditions, enhanced with a European flair.

Experience with these traditions is a plus, but if you’re eager to master the art of BBQ, you’ve come to the right place. We’ll provide you with thorough, hands-on training.

A 38-hour contract with a variable schedule over five working days per week, including one fixed day off on Mondays.
