Luiza Tendler & Guy Quirynen noticed a hole in the food industry. accessible yet authentic Japanese food experiences. Being in the Japanese food scene, this power couple decided to change that. Make something that would submerge you in a unique Japanese experience not only with intricate flavors but the environment itself. This is how RORU – SUSHI Rolls & Rice Bowls was born, a place where people come together for a gastronomic adventure.
The RORU brand was inspired by Japanese fish mongers and their craft. The logo showcases elements of the bright Kobayashi fisherman flag with traditional Japanese imagery. We wanted to emulate the feeling of being in a Japanese food or fish market, where you can get the most mouthwatering cuisine, cooked with love, made fresh and slightly messy. Using simple authentic ingredients and taking time to prepare them with proper technique and craft.

RORU is currently hiring a Manager for our Leuven branch.
Tâches
- You are responsible for the daily management of the Sushi Shop: you manage the shop with care and attention. You solve any kind of problems (absences, malfunctions, complaints by customers,….) in an constructive manner
- As a real ambassador of Roru you greet and service our guests with a big smile. You make sure they have an unforgettable experience. The shop’s image is prior on your list!
- You inspire and motivate your team to achieve the required results
- You create a positive atmosphere and resolve conflicts and frustrations in a constructive way, while coaching your team and being a good example at all times
- You manage the staff schedule and follow up on contracts. You organize and supervise shifts
- You are responsible for recruiting fix employees, flexi’s and students
- You control the smooth running of all procedures (service – products – hygiene/HACCP – safety – checkout – …) and do a regular check up on product quality.
- You make every effort to achieve the required turnover: you keep the costs under control, you find ways to cut waste and you take action when the shop’s results are dropping
- You are responsible for ordering and receiving the products
- You report directly to the Operational Manager
Profil
- You have a passion for hospitality and authentic cuisine. You want and can transmit your passion to others (team and clients)
- You are a coach at heart who inspires and motivates employees to achieve excellent results
- You are positive: you contribute to an enthusiastic, constructive, and solution-oriented policy
- You are an involved person who likes to take responsibility and who is open to feedback
- You work and communicate in a structured and organized way
- You are results-oriented: you want to achieve the required objectives
- You are flexible: working on weekends and having variable hours does not bother you and you are reachable/available in case of problems
- Experience in the Horeca is a plus; experience as a manager is a must
- Language skills: English + Dutch (Not a Must)
