Sapphire House Antwerp is the first Autograph Collection by Marriott. This historic building, dating from the 16th century, welcomes guests in one of its 139 rooms and suites. This luxury lifestyle hotel is located adjacent to the magnificent Handelsbeurs where nowadays memorable meetings and conventions take place. Merchants and travellers from all over the world have been coming to Antwerp since the 16th century to trade in goods and gems, as from 2022, Sapphire House Antwerp welcomes these merchants (corporate) and travellers (leisure) once again. At Sapphire House, we combine the rich elements of Antwerp’s past with the 5* luxury of today.

Taken

As maître, you are responsible for the daily operation and development of the fine dining restaurant WildN, its related processes, employees, products and administration, in order to achieve an optimal financial restaurant. You will manage the operational team and work closely with the Chef.

WildN is completely plant-based, under the guidance of 2-star chef Bart De Pooter. Restaurant WildN, located in the ballroom of Sapphire House Antwerp, a fine dining restaurant with exclusively plant-based dishes. WildN stands for quality, gastronomic and plant-based.

Tasks

  • Ensuring high quality service and guest satisfaction;
  • Assigning tasks, giving directions and instructions;
  • Supervising the progress and quality of the work, receiving and dealing with questions and/or complaints;
  • Actively participating in the operational process, both during mise en place and peak moments;
  • Ensuring correct administration and supplying the required data and reports;
  • Drawing up work schedules;
  • Ensuring the availability of all supplies and tools;
  • Supervising the compliance with the regulations in the field of safety, HACCP and presentation methods;
  • Looking after the training/training of employees;
  • Drawing up the menu and the drinks menu in cooperation with the chef;
  • Making suggestions for improvement based on practical experiences and feedback from guests;
  • Adherence to all standards that belong to an Autograph Collection by Marriott.

Profiel

  • Bachelor degree preferably in Hotel Management (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in a gastronomic establishment
  • Guest oriented
  • Quality oriented
  • Well-groomed appearance
  • Speaks Dutch and English fluently, French is a plus
